Working with me

Undertaking any building project can feel overwhelming but with the right guidance, it doesn’t have to be. I’m here to make the process feel clear, manageable, and even enjoyable. Here’s how I help take your ideas from first thoughts to finished space.

Let's talk about your project
(a helpful chat, not a sales pitch)

STAGE #1

Consultation

We’ll start with a home visit at a time that suits you. We’ll have an open conversation about what you’re hoping to change, what’s not working, and how you live in the space day to day. It’s about getting a real understanding of what you want to achieve and more importantly, why.

STAGE #2

Ideas & Plans

Next, I’ll carry out a full survey of your home to create detailed existing drawings. From there, I’ll begin shaping ideas, applying your brief with a bit of creative thinking to explore the possibilities. I’ll present a plan that I believe answers the brief in the best way. Then we’ll refine it together until it feels exactly right.

I also act as Principal Design under CDM 2015, managing your client legal responsibilities, to keep everything running safely and smoothly.

STAGE #3

Town Planning

If your project needs planning permission, I’ll prepare and submit all the necessary documents and application forms. During the planning process I’ll liaise with the local planning authority to deal with any queries or objections to ensure your application is kept on track.

STAGE #4

Building Regulations

Once planning is approved, I’ll liaise with my trusted list of consultants and engineers to handle the building regulations stage, and deal with Party Wall agreements if required. You don’t need to worry about the paperwork. I’ll take care of all the technical and legal bits behind the scenes.

STAGE #5

Finding the Right Team & On-Site Support

I’ll share trusted contacts from my network of reliable builders and tradespeople, and help put the project out to quote. These are people I’ve worked with before and know will do a good job. Once building work begins, I’ll stay involved: Checking in with the builders, answering questions, and making sure the design is followed.
